Meet Clay, our very own Emotional Support Tax Dog at Bookkeeping by Blanche. At four years old, Clay takes his role very seriously—firmly believing that every single person who walks through our doors is here specifically to see him.

Clay is a regular presence during interviews, client meetings, and daily office life. Whether he’s sitting in on conversations or relaxing in the lobby, he has a special way of brightening our clients’ day and helping create a warm, welcoming environment.

Known for his large head and even bigger heart, Clay spends much of his day with his head resting on his mommy’s desk, patiently waiting for the next visitor to arrive. His calm presence and friendly spirit help make tax season just a little less stressful and a lot more enjoyable.

At Bookkeeping by Blanche, we believe in attention to detail, exceptional service—and the occasional tail wag. Clay is proud to serve as our Chief Morale Booster and Client Greeter.

Blanche Slade is the original Tax Dog of Bookkeeping by Blanche and has been part of the office family since the very beginning. At eight years old, this Boston Terrier has proudly spent most of her life in the tax office—so much so that she considers it her second home and the team her extended family.

Known for her strong will and unmistakable presence, Blanche firmly believes she runs the roost. Her confidence, loyalty, and watchful eye helped set the tone for the welcoming environment our clients have come to know and love.

While Blanche once held the full-time title of Chief Office Greeter, she has recently eased into a well-earned semi-retirement, passing the paw—formerly the “baton”—to her best friend, Clay. These days, you may still find her at the office from time to time, enjoying special “mommy time” and reminding everyone who started it all.

As the original Tax Dog, Blanche will always hold a special place in the heart of Bookkeeping by Blanche.
